The Angeles Culiat Jaycees saw the passing of the torch from one beautiful lady president to another. Agnes “Neki” Liwanag was sworn in as the 58th President of the prestigious organization by out-going president Avelaine “Avs” Nepomuceno in the presence of other past presidents of the JCI Angeles City “Culiat” and National Board Officers of the JCI Philippines.
During her valedictory address, out going President likened her term as President to the JCI Angeles Culiat as a marriage for a year, in which she even divulged a promise she made to several past presidents that she would not have a significant other during her one year term. This revelation was met with laughs and wild applause. In recognition of her energy and drive to spearhead the Sagip Ondoy and Pepeng Telethon and Relief Operations as well as her dedication to the organization, the Past Presidents of the Angeles Culiat presented out going President Avelaine a magnificent bronze sculpture.
In what is probably one of the most fashionable Induction and Turnover ceremonies ever presented by the organization with its theme “Gossip Girl” a primetime television favorite. Neki, the Business Development Manager and Executive Assistant to the President of Widus International leisure Inc. became the Angeles Culiat’s third lady president in its long and illustrious existence. The event was graced by presidents and officers of different North Luzon JCI Philippines Local Organizations as well as two international JCI Organizations, JCI – Chungli and JCI – Kota Kinabalu.
In her Inaugural Speech President Neki shared her vision of what her term would be in terms of activities and priority projects. She also stated that she is determined to bring in new blood to the organization and to create new awareness of the organizations existence to the populace of Angeles City and beyond.
President Neki will be supported by her new board members; Voltaire Zalamea Executive, Vice President; Janice Macaspac, Secretary; Kitty Pangilinan; Vice President for Business; Francis Roxas, Vice President for Community; Laila Macapinlac, Vice President – Individual; Edwin Pingol, Vice President – International; Joyce Macaspac, Treasurer; Sigfred Catalan, Auditor; and Avelaine Nepomuceno, Immediate Past President. The Guests of Honor and Speaker that night was the National President, JCI Sen. Manuel Van Torrevillas who was represented by JCI Sen. Randolph Ivan Ruste, National Treasurer . Presiding charging officer was Regional Vice President JCI Mem Johnny Delos Reyes and Inducting Officer was Area Vice President JCI Sen. Christine Ponce-Garcia.
The formal portion of the event ended with a lively dance number presented by the Jaycees newest inducted members followed by fabulous acoustic music by popular local band “Chiro”.
